This Wednesday, May 3rd in our Junior section, we held the first Math Fair Day in which for this first semester 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders actively participated. During the second semester 5th and 6th graders will have the opportunity to show their work as well.
The aim behind this activity was to connect contents worked during these first months with simple games created by the students themselves such as:Tic-tac-toe , bingo, roulette...where they learned to count by 2's and 5's (2nd), multiplications (3rd) and rounding (4th).
Math Fair Day was a success and both children and adults enjoyed playing and learning.
Special thanks to Miss Cecilia Ulloa, Miss Bernardita Costabal and Miss Karla Aguilar who have worked for months with their classes in the creation of the games, setup and organization of this first Junior math milestone in our school.
